Posted on September 11th, 2009 No commentsSince their inception in 1996, birding trails now wind throughout the United States. Texas was the first of now almost 40 states to create birding trails. What kind of SNAKE !?!?!?
Posted on June 10th, 2009 1 commentI just got home and looked in my back yard. I see a long black snake with a white belly. Some birds(American Robins) kept flying over and standing in front of it. The snake didn't attack the birds at all. The snake eventually crawled into the woods in my back yard. I can't tell exactly where it went since the grass in the wood area is tall. What kind of snake is this and how can i keep it away from my house.

Can anyone help me identify a species of large bird that sits in a tree in my back yard.?
Posted on May 7th, 2009 1 commentI discovered a large bird about the size of a duck with clawed feet, a white face with a black strip along the side of her face and distinct red feathers on the top of her head. Her body was black and she was white underneath her wings. She was climbing in our tree during the morning. We live in CT in a wooded area and we have never seen this bird before. Can anyone idenify this bird please. We have pictures as well. Thank you.

Posted on May 1st, 2009 1 commentI recently found a species of small birds nesting in the backyard of my house. They kind of chirp like finches & whistle as imo saying "Thank You/Uh Oh" (if that makes sense).

How can I prevent mosquitos from breeding in a bird bath?
Posted on March 17th, 2009 1 commentI'm thinking of putting a bird bath in my back yard (so they'll have water and then my backyard can be a good habitat). I'm worried that mosquitos will breed in the bird bath though (water). I don't have time to change the water every day..Any tips?
