I need references to go birdwatching in Thailand with a resonable price and a knowledgeable guide. Someone?
Posted on May 19th, 2009 1 commentI recently moved into Thailand and as a birdwatching lover, I've been trying to find the way of seen some of the spectacular sites in this great country.
But everyone treat me like a rich "falan" and try to charge me in between 0 to 00 for a guided weekend.
I'm a professional birding guide from Costa Rica with almost 20 years of experience in all latin america, north america and some caribbean islands, so, I know there is always somehow you can go find birds with more logical people who share the pasion on it…
If anybody could give me tips or experiences about it, I'll highly appreciated and will be happy to exchange info about birds from American Continent and - now - from Hong Kong and Indonesia as well, since I was over there for 6 months on my way to Thailand ( job reasons ) and spended good time to see birds in this two - nice - sites… thanks -
What is this North American bird, short and stocky, mostly black, with a yellow elongated 2-3″ thin beak?
Posted on April 1st, 2009 1 commentThey seemed about 6-7" long, rather short wings? The head feathers seemed flat, and they could have had dark blue or dark green feathers underbelly?

business of bird breeding?
Posted on March 22nd, 2009 1 commentOk so my girlfiend and I have these finches that are/ have breed. We have a 45 cubic foot cage so we have room but we are looking to sell the offspring because we've read the parents can become hositle to their young when its time to leave their care. We are also anticipating more litters of birds to come. We have found a non corporate chain pet store that wants to buy our birds because its less stress on the birds if they dont have to get shipped from well wherever they get them. But they need to keep all their business dealings legit and on paper so we are required to have a tax ID number and a registered business name and the works. The thing is even if we do set up all this our "business" will deffinately not be a profitable business since the birds will sell for like a piece. Can someone give me advice?
